object permanence/
velocity of inhalation
In their artistic process, Litzenberger removes objects from their original contexts and assembles them in new environments. The keynote of the exhibition in G10 (Darmstadt) is formed by several flutes that appear in stylised animal forms distributed around the room. These pottery musical instruments, in the form of commercial plush teddy bears and pigs, create tones of varying depths. The muffled sounds pulsate through the room like invisible waves and get entangled in the other elements of the installation. Abstracted, simplified contours of the flutes are printed on the carpet squares on the table surface. These black shapes appear in a recurring rhythm that carries on the beat of the exhibition. Two video works present the use of the tone flutes, in which different frequencies are experimented in public space. G10 is thus transformed into a polyphonic sound space through the presence of the instruments.
